We're not covering the basics here. These are three items that regularly go into our carry-ons for travel, whether it be international or domestic.
An avid card player with her husband while on vacation, Ruth Ann always throws a deck of cards and score sheet into her bag for easy access.
Next into the bag goes resealable bags, because, well, you just never know what you might need those for.
Her final must-item is a small light for seeing in the hotel room or ship stateroom. When you travel as much as Ruth Ann does, it's easy to forget where you are. Sure, you can use the flashlight on your phone, but RA likes to keep it old-school with a small flashlight.
Stephanie and her husband also love to play card and board games, but not of the traditional variety. Stephanie likes to take board games with them that relocate well sans box. San Juan is a personal favorite, and the entire game can be contained in a sandwich-size Ziploc. Two games usually go into the carry-on, but for the sake of this post, we're counting it as one item.
If you've cruised, you know how extensive the daily activities can be. For this reason, Stephanie has started packing a highlighter, specifically, to mark the fun they don't want to miss. Sure, a pen could work, but let's just agree that a highlighter makes more sense.
Vegan for nearly five years, Stephanie always packs a bag of snacks with her that includes some treats. Resorts, cruise lines, and Walt Disney World are all very accommodating to the diet, but it is nice to have little snacks and goodies once in awhile. The bag always includes Oreos, Stephanie's favorite cookie.
